Конспект уроку на тему: "My school life"
Objectives: to revise vocabulary; to activate speech habits of students; to develop student’s personal skills in learning and understanding; to improve reading, speaking and listening skills; to practice writing skills.
Equipment: textbook, handouts, CD.
T. Good morning, dear girls and boys. How are you today? I see you are in a good mood, am I right?
It means that you are OK at school and at home. These are two main places where you spend your time. Look at the blackboard and say: “What do we speak about today? So our topic is “School life”.
The motto of the lesson “Live and learn”. Who knows another proverbs and sayings about school?
P1. Train hard fight easy.
P2. All I know is that I know nothing.
P3. To know everything is to know nothing.
P4. It is never late to learn.
T. So to be intelligent and smart you have to learn all your life. We’ll speak about school, we’ll revise vocabulary, we’ll read the text about education in Ukraine and we’ll practice in transforming of direct speech into indirect.
Teacher suggests that students make up a spider gram about school on the blackboard.
Let’s brunch up on what school is.
P1. It is a typical building in the center of our village. It is not very big but comfortable and beautiful. It’s my native school. I’m accustomed to it because five days a week I come here. School is my second home.
P2. The territory of our school includes stadium, garden and park. Stadium is favourite place of our boys. During thebreaks and after classes they play football there. At Physical Training Lessons we go running, jumping, playing different games. A lot of fruit trees grow in our school garden: apple-trees, plum-trees, cherry-trees. And in the park you can see birches, lime-trees, ach-trees, poplars and oak-trees.
P3. Teachers of our school are very friendly, caring and intelligent. They know all we ask them. They are always ready to help us.
P4. There are different classrooms where we study all kinds of subjects. My favourite subject is English, it is held in the English classroom.
P5. Our school has the character. There are school rules there:
P6. At school we have variety of activities: clubs, contests, Olympiads, meetings, parties concerts, performances etc.
III. MAIN PART OF THE LESSON
Students work in pairs. They match the science and its definition.
1) The science that studies the structure of substances and the way they change.
2) The science that studies physical objects and substances and natural forces such as light, heat and movement.
3) The scientific study of animals and plants.
4) The study of all the things that happened in the past, especially the political, social or economic life of people.
5) The study of the countries, seas, rivers, towns, etc. of the world.
6) The subject that studies books, plays, poems, etc.
You have got cards with some words and word combinations. Use them to make stories about your favourite subjects. Students work individually.
Let me tell you about my favourite subject. I like … most of all. My favourite subject is … (My favourite subjects are…) I want to enter … . I want to be … in the future. We … at the lessons of … .
To read texts, to write dictations/ essays; to do the sums; to count; to draw geometrical figures; to learn grammar rules; to do exercises; to read poems/ stories/ novels; to recite verses; to act out plays; to learn about historical events/ wars/ outstanding people/ our rights and duties; to read the Constitution of Ukraine; to learn about nature (climate, countries, oceans, seas, rivers, towns and villages of the world); to work with maps; to learn about plants and animals; to study the physical objects and substances (chemical elements, the structure of substances); to do the experiments to cook; to sew; to embroider; to make metal and wooden things; to give the first aid; to speak English, to read German; to write Spanish; to listen to the recordings; to act out the dialogues; to translate words and sentences; to go on educational excursions and nature trips; to spell the words; to jump; to run; to swim; to ski; to play football/ volleyball/ basketball/ tennis/ chess; to work with a computer.
Rewrite the sentences using the reported speech.
Group work. To arrange three groups teacher asks students to imagine themselves to be atoms and moving in the room they have to form three molecules. Each ‘molecule’ gets the card with the task to practice in reporting direct into indirect.
Imagine that an American boy Bill was introduced to you. Read what he told about himself. Then write he told you using the reported speech.

I’ve been to Kyiv by plane a week ago.
I’ll go to Kharkiv soon.

EDUCATION IN GREAT BRITAIN
In England and Whales compulsory school begins at the age of five, but before That age children can go to a nursery school, also called play school. School is compulsory till the children are 16 years old.
In Primary School and First School children learn to read and write and the basis of arithmetic. In the higher classes of Primary school (or in Middle School) children learn Geography, History, Religion, and in some school, a Foreign Language. Then children got o the Secondary School.
When students are 6 years old they make an exam in various subjects in order to have a qualification. These qualifications can either G.C.S.E. (General Certificate of Secondary Education) or “O level” (Ordinary level). After that students can either leave school and start working or continue their studies in the same school as before. If they continue, when they are 18, they have to take further examinations which are necessary for getting into university or college.
Some parents choose private schools for their children They are very expensive But considered to provide a better education and good job opportunities.
In England there are 47 universities, including the Open University which teaches via TV and radio, about 4000 colleges and institutes of higher education. Generally, universities award two kinds of degrees: the bachelor’s degree and the Master’s degree.
