І. ПІДГОТОВКА ДО СПРИЙНЯТТЯ ІНШОМОВНОГО

1. УВЕДЕННЯ В ІНШОМОВНЕ СЕРЕДОВИЩЕ

Т: Good morning, children. I am glad to see you. Let's start our English lesson.

2. ПОВІДОМЛЕННЯ ТЕМИ ТА МЕТИ УРОКУ

Т: Today we'll have a very interesting topic. We are going to speak about friends and friendship.

II. ОСНОВНА ЧАСТИНА УРОКУ

1. ФОНЕТИЧНА ЗАРЯДКА

Т: Let's pronounce the proverb about friendship in chain. Pay attention to the pronunciation of sound [i:] and intonation. A friend in need is a friend indeed.

2. МОВЛЕННЄВА ЗАРЯДКА

T: It's nice to have a lot of friends. Everybody needs friendship. You are nice pupils. You study at school, have a lot of classmates, play in the yard with other children. There are so many people around with different interests and characters. Let's try to answer the question: How to choose the real friend Real friends have much in common: common interests, hobbies, characters. That's why before speaking about friends and friendship let's learn the new words and word-combinations using the features of character.

(Потрібно на дошці написати нові слова з транскрипцією. Разом із учнями записуємо переклад слів, користуючись словниками. Потім учні записують слова, транскрипцію та переклад у свої словники.)

Tasks

T: You will work in groups. Split into four groups, please. The first and the second groups will write down the good features of character. The third and the fourth groups will write down the bad features of character. Goodfeatures of character: tidy, well-bred, active, hardworking, helpful, friendly, serious, polite, strong, optimistic, kind, kind-hearted, clever, brave, honest, attentive, cheerful, reliable. Bad features of character: untidy, ill-bred, boastful, coward, lazy, selfish, greedy, stubborn, shy, irresolute.

2. Match the words to their meanings.

1) polite;

2) boastful;

3) clever;

4) optimistic;

5) tidy;

6) honest;

7) attentive;

8) selfish.

a) a person who is clever learns and understands things quickly;

b) a person who is polite has good manners and shows respect for others;

c) a person who is boastful talks too proudly about himself;

d) a person who is optimistic expects good things;

e) a person who is attentive watches, listens or thinks carefully;

f) a person who is selfish thinks only about his own needs or wishes;

g) a person who is honest tells the truth;

h) a person who is tidy keeps their house, clothes etc neat and clean.

Key: 1-b; 2-е; 3-a; 4-d; 5-; 6-g; 7-е; 8-f.

3. Write down the words and explain them.

1) kind — a person who is kind cares about others;

4. Make up word-combinations with the words meaning the features of character.

Example: a polite woman, a tidy boy, a clever teacher, a brave sportsman etc.

5. Write about yourself and your friend. Complete the sentences below.

3.1 have … . My best friends are … .

4. My room is … .

T: That's all for today. You are very clever and wellbred pupils. You learn English well. Do you have any questions? You have worked very well. That's why your marks are good too. Open your day-books and write down your homework. You have to learn new words and write down the features of character of your best friend.

Write no less than 6 words.
